An iconic part of our City’s annual calendar, it’s Cape Town Pride this weekend! A colourful celebration of identity, love and culture, you can’t miss it.
Here is everything you need to know:
The march
The Pride March this year, Saturday 4 March, will start outside Prestwich Street Primary School in Alfred Street in De Waterkant.
The crowd will gather from 11am, with the parade taking off at 12pm. The group will proceed along Prestwich Street, right into Chiappini Street and then right into Somerset Road.
The parade will stop at the rainbow crossing for the official ribbon cutting that starts the parade.

The crowd will walk along Somerset Road through Green Point and around the Helen Suzman Boulevard circle, before finishing in the car park at the Green Point Track. All of these roads will subsequently be closed to vehicles for the duration of the parade.
All ages are welcome at this fun and safe event.

The mardi gras
The Pride Festival Mardi Gras follows the march and is a setup of stalls and a performance stage. The event runs from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday.
Stalls will sell LGBTQIA+ goodies, food and drinks, and there are plenty of chill-out areas as well as a children’s area.
This year boasts an incredible lineup of talent, including Dope St Jude, Jarrad Ricketts, Manila Von Teez, 3 Fingers, 3 Divas, The Trans-formers, 3 Tons of Fun, Belinda Qaqamba Ka-Fassie, Craig Jordaan and more.
It is important to note that no cash will be accepted at the door. It is advisable to get your tickets online, which you can purchase here.
