There’s nothing more difficult than having to drag yourself out from the warm comfort of your duvet on a Saturday morning to get those endorphins pumping and those fitness levels rising – you know how it goes, ‘summer bodies are made in winter’, or so they say.

To make getting up to work out a whole lot more appealing, Merakii Movement will be hosting their very first pop-up workout event, in collaboration with ILoveBoobies and Silent Events at Camps Bay High School this July.
Join Merakii Movement’s Biokineticist and Fitness Instructor, Joslyn Lategan, alongside Muay Thai, Boxing and Group Fitness Trainer, Looqmaan Hassen, and special guest trainers on 8 July for a fun-filled work-out experience with a difference.
By getting into the groove of things with Silent Event’s iconic headsets and your heart pumping with Merakii Movement and special guest trainers, you’ll also be supporting the ILoveBoobies Charity.
An organisation that aims to educate and provide free breast examinations for South African women who have limited funds and access to medical facilities, as well as create awareness and support amongst and for the greater public about breast cancer.

Here’s what you can expect:
four 15- to 20-minute body-weighted workouts guided by four trainers, each bringing their own amazing talent and skills to ensure every muscle fibre gets its fair share of the fun:
Looqmaan Hassen – Boxing and HIIT
‘Looq will make you all feel like ninjas.’
Joslyn Lategan – HIIT
‘Jos will get your heart rate up to some good tunes.’
Megan Goliath – Dance
Femmove’s ‘Megan will bring your inner dancer out of you’.
Casey Hendricks – Light Pilates / Yoga Flow
Casey Health and Fitness’ ‘Casey will ground with some peaceful music and light movement to centre yourself to end the event.’
Don’t forget to bring along your own mat and enough water to keep you hydrated through all the movements.
Plus (for a bit of extra motivation), there will be a bunch of prizes and giveaways up for grabs in between each trainer’s workouts.
