This documentary premiere marks the official inception of The Heart of Cape Town movement. Filmed and produced by Eric Gauss and Odette Van Rensburg, the documentary captures the essence of this inspiring initiative.
Local wire artist Laston Sachikonye and his team craft stunning pieces from wire, ranging from hearts of various sizes and colours. Through the generosity of Uthando South Africa donors, thousands of these radiant hearts have been dispersed across South Africa. They have reached a diverse array of individuals, including those involved in community projects, activists, artists, educators, schoolchildren, politicians, and celebrities.
The Heart of Cape Town documentary eloquently portrays select South Africans who have been touched by these heartfelt gestures. After receiving their wire hearts, they share their stories and sentiments, speaking candidly from the depths of their hearts.
