Saint’s exclusive New Year’s Eve rates have stirred up a mixed bag of responses. Comments questioning the prices include:
- “My net worth is not high enough to be a part of this conversation.”
- “guess we’ll be meeting here again in Jan when they post the most wanted and their bills?”
- “since when do you need to take out a home loan to go groove?”
- “I hear table 1 comes with a house & car.”
- “next year it will be “Africa, please help us find ____”
- “1M ? not too shabby I want 5 tables please, do I send my picture now or later?”
The establishment made headlines in November of this year when the bar took to social media to name patrons who had left the club without settling their bills and were currently still in arrears.
It stated, “Please note that you only have 12 hours to pay your outstanding overdue amount balances. Should you not pay the outstanding balances within the stipulated time, we would have no choice but to make your identities public on social media with your outstanding amounts.”
Champagne and caviar on the last day of the year; plain crackers on the first. This might just be the making of a very long January for some Capetonians.
