Surf Emporium is internationally recognised as South Africa’s most popular surf and SUP destination with a proven track record.

Surf Emporium is located on the Muizenberg beachfront on Surfers Corner and offers an accredited Surf and SUP School, rents high-quality equipment and leading Surf and SUP brands. It is a family-focused environment where you embrace the surfing world whether it is something you want to try for the first time or something you have loved for years.
What makes it extra special is its adaptive surfing clinic.
Surf Emporium defines an adaptive surfer as a surfer with a disability, including but not limited to paralysis, cerebral palsy, blindness, amputations and so on. The adaptive surfing clinic allows people with physical and intellectual disabilities to ride ocean waves on a surfboard.

Also known as para surfing, adaptive surfing was introduced to the disabled community of South Africa for the first time in 2011 and is a sport that has been growing rapidly.
Surf Emporium is committed to developing this growth locally and nationally.

Adaptive surfing was officially added to the Olympic Games in 2020, and it allows adaptive surfers to compete against and alongside athletes without disabilities.
Surf Emporium offers the following adaptive surf categories:
- AS-1: Surfers who ride in a standing or kneeling position
- AS-2: Surfers who ride in a standing or kneeling position
- AS-3: Surfers who ride in a seated position
- AS-4: Surfers who ride in a prone position
- AS-5: Surfers who ride in a non-standing position and need assistance to paddle into waves
- AS-VI: Surfers who have a visual impairment
- *Adaptive Surfers with intellectual disabilities
