After securing first place in the knee division, Tyler Pike, a 27-year-old colourist and skilled surfer from Cape Town, has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2023 ISA World Para Surfing Championships held in California’s seaside city, Huntington Beach.
Tyler works as a digital comics colourist for Jincom in the coastal suburb of Kommetjie. The salty sea breeze not only provides a refreshing backdrop to his daily life but also brings a constant temptation to hone his surfing skills.
Tyler has managed to save R36 000, but he will still require another R55 000 or more to cover essential expenses.
