Characterised by revolutionary electronic sounds, heartfelt R&B ballads, and head-bobbing hip-hop beats, there’s no denying that it was a musical era that’s certainly stood the test of time.
To prove it, Cape Town even has a nightclub dedicated to taking you on a nostalgic trip to way back when. And this Friday, Silent Disco takes over to bring back the classics with a silent twist.

Bid farewell to the working week and kickstart your weekend the right way as you bust out the moves you’ve had to stifle for so long to the beat of your own tune at DecoDance, courtesy of Silent Events SA.
The silent party starts at 9pm but doors open at 7:30pm for eager beavers looking to catch an early ride on the throwback train.
DecoDance’s resident DJ Patrick Vee Pollacchi will welcome you with an epic set to get you warmed up on the dance floor before the Silent Disco headsets come out.
From 9pm, you’ll receive a pair of wireless headphones with three channels that you can switch between when you want to change the beat.

Each channel offers a gateway to a different DJ, who will lay down the grooves to your favourite music genres.
On the RED Channel:
DJ Twin Decks (aka Adrian Gemini) will be banging out all your favourite house tunes from way back when, so oil your joints beforehand to bring back those robot moves .
On the BLUE Channel:
DecoDance’s own legendary DJ Patrick Vee Pollacchi will be busting out all your favourite 80s and 90s classics, having you belting out the lyrics of your youth in no time.
DJ Patrick Vee will be setting the mood from 7:30pm to 9pm before the Silent Disco heasdsets come out.
On the GREEN Channel:
The notorious Staphanus tha Rare King will be dishing out classic hip-hop and R&B tunes that will have you ‘push it’ to the limit and beyond (get it?)
