A number of pro-Israel Christian organisations plan to hold a peaceful ‘prayer and proclamation for Israel and South Africa’ protest on the Promenade in Cape Town this afternoon.

According to Peter Flentov, Green Point Neighbourhood Watch Chairperson, the organisations include the Concerned Clergy Western Cape, South African Friends of Israel, International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, Bridges for Peace and the ACDP.
‘The City has denied a second application for a planned pro-Palestine protest action on the Prom, also on Sunday afternoon. The City received this application after the first one, and it was therefore denied. While not one of the applicants, it is understood that the EFF had indicated that they intended to participate in the protest.’
Although Flentov further states that the South African Police Service and local law enforcement will monitor the march to ensure that the permitted protest is allowed to proceed peacefully, residents are urged to exercise extreme caution.
