According to a statement, its secretary general, Fikile Mbalula, will join the Muslim Judicial Council of South Africa, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Al-Quds Foundation of South Africa, the South African Communist Party and progressive forces. The march will start at the Muir Street Masjid in District 6 and end at the office of the premier on Wale Street.
‘The crisis in the Middle East has reached genocidal proportions. The world cannot spectate in the face of human persecution, the illegal occupation of Palestine, the indiscriminate bombing of schools, hospitals, houses and the sabotage of key water and electricity infrastructure,’ it states.
The ANC reiterated its stance on a free Palestine, adding that ‘millions of defenceless women, children and journalists have been cold-bloodily maimed by the Israel killing machine’.
