SA Cocktail Week starts this weekend, so we’ve rounded up 3 of top thirst quenchers for you to try from Burger & Lobster – or DIY at home. (Psst.. Scroll down to WIN!)

If you’re feeling a bit old fashioned, try your hand at one of these whiskey delights. Burger & Lobster turns up the drama with a bacon and maple variation of this classic cocktail. Here’s how you can make it yourself…

Ingredients

2 shots bacon-infused whiskey

A teaspoon of maple syrup

1 orange slice

3 dashes of bitters

Garnish with a bacon slice

Method

In a cocktail glass, muddle the orange. Add ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake, and pour through a strainer into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with bacon.

Gin – Cape Town’s favourite spirit and a versatile alcohol that allows you to keep things simple, yet fresh. Here’s how to create your own B&L inspired gin cocktail.

Ingredients

2 shots gin

250ml tonic water

A slice of lime

A slice of cucumber

Method

Add some ice to a glass and pour the gin over. Add tonic water and a slice of lime. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

A Burger & Lobster creation (just in time for cocktail week) this raspberry, basil infused tipple has us drooling. Follow suit with this inspired recipe.

Ingredients

2 shots rum

30ml raspberry shrub

3 tablespoons raspberry vinegar

A dash of ice water

Fresh basil

Method

Add all ingredients besides the basil to a shaker. Shake, pour over ice and garnish with fresh basil.
