Cape {town} Etc reached out to the company, which confirmed that, due to high inflationary importing costs and low consumer demand, Unilever South Africa (Proprietary) Limited will regretfully be discontinuing Hellmann’s until further notice.
The range of creamy condiments joins the list of a number of discontinued products in South Africa.
Most recently, Redro Fish Spread and Peck’s Anchovette, along with Cadbury’s Tempo, Chocolate Log, and Simba’s All-Gold Tomato Sauce Chips, have all been discontinued.
We can only hope that the product will soon be back on store shelves, whether as a result of Unilever changing its mind or perhaps through a new supplier.
