Recently, Cape Town has had a number of gang-related shootings.
SAPS police spokesperson Fredrick van Wyk announced on 8 November that three suspects were arrested in Strand in connection to a shooting in Strand that took place during the past weekend.
Four people were shot, and among them were three children.
According to EWN, Wyk said, “The motive of this shooting is gang-related. According to reports, the victims were at home when suspects entered the premises and started shooting.”
“They took two cellphones and undisclosed amount of cash and ran away. Three suspects were identified and arrested and will appear in the Strand Magistrates Court once charged.”
The suspects are facing charges of malicious damage to property, attempted murder and armed robbery.
