Cape Town, we have all experienced a night of being intoxicated which turned into pure silliness with friends, but not once can I say that I was lost and looked for myself, writes Cape {town} Etc’s, Leigh-Ann Londt. Pure Mr. Mutlu faced a completely different situation when he joined a search party not realising he was looking for himself.
A 50-year-old resident from Bursa, Turkey named Beyhan Mutlu reportedly joined a search party that was allegedly looking for a missing person.
According to Pop Culture, Mutlu was drunk when he joined in on the search and found out that it was in fact his own family who had reported him missing after he did not return home after a night of drinking with his friends.
This followed after his wife could not get hold of him on his cell phone for several hours and the officials were told that his friends had lost him after he wandered off into a forest, reports the Daily Sabah.
Later on, after a long and exhaustive search, Mutlu finally came to the realisation that the search and rescue team was looking for him.
One of the rescuers shouted Mutlu’s name and only then did he realise that the search party was looking for him, according to Business Insider. “Who are we looking for? I am here,” he reportedly said.
Speaking to Daily Sabah, Mutlu said that there “really was no need” for his friends to report him as missing. “Basically, I’m paying for my friends’ mistakes,” he said. “What happened is all like a joke.”
The authorities then gave the man a lift home after they took his statement.
