As the weekend comes to a close, Eskom’s latest power alert says the country will see the early return of stage 6 loadshedding later this afternoon and will continue until further notice.
This comes as a result of the failure of additional generating units and the delay of several units to return to service.

The power utility says this is anticipated to persist throughout the coming week.
A further update will be published as soon as any significant changes occur.
Despite a generating unit each at Duvha, Lethabo and Medupi power stations returning to service since yesterday morning, breakdowns currently stand at 19 333 MW of generating capacity.
The generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 4 524 MW.
As part of its Demand-side Management (DSM) initiative to effectively manage the supply and demand of electricity, Eskom has urged South Africans to use electricity conservatively during peak hour periods when the country experiences high energy consumption, typically from 5pm to 9pm.
