Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has announced the name of the City’s new anti-litter mascot: Bingo. Earlier this year, the City asked residents, schools, businesses and civil society to help name the mascot.

Bingo is modelled after the green city litter bins that can be found across Cape Town. ‘As part of our Keep Cape Town Clean campaign, we’re calling on all Capetonians to never litter and to always use the available litter bins. All of us can take a minute to pick up litter, and encourage others to do the same,’ says Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis. ‘Together, Capetonians can be a powerful force for change.
