On Sunday, drugs valued at more than R1.5 million were found during a house raid in Harare.
Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie of the Western Cape South African Police Service (SAPS) says members of the Milnerton police station received a tip-off about a possible drug storage facility at a premises in Sanddrift.

Upon arrival, they found a large quantity of cocaine, mandrax rock and tik, with an estimated value of R1.5 million. A 19-year-old man was arrested and he is scheduled to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court once charged.

On the same day, officers confiscated a quantity of dagga during routine patrols at 33 Block.
At around 9:40am, members of the Harare Crime Prevention Unit were stopped by a member of the public who informed them of a house where drugs were being sold. ‘The members immediately operationalised the information and proceeded to the identified address,’ says Pojie.
‘Upon arrival, they found the owner of the house inside busy processing dagga.’
A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of 12 dagga cigarettes, six stops of dagga and some cash.
