A 15-year-old boy who is said to be the nephew of Cape Town singer Craig Lucas has been taken into police custody after he allegedly shot and killed both his parents on Sunday, 6 March.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident in Sharon Crescent, Protea Heights, Brackenfell, where a 37-year-old male and a 37-year-old female were shot and fatally wounded.
“Brackenfell police attended to the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies. The victims were declared deceased on the scene by paramedics,” Twigg said.
Twigg further mentioned that the 15-year-old suspect was arrested and will be evaluated on Monday.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, a family spokesperson urged the public to respect the family’s privacy during this time as they deal with this tragedy.
“The Family has experienced a grave tragedy and loss. At this time they ask that you respect their privacy as they deal with the death of Warren and Arlene,” the post read.
