UPDATE: WATCH THE TULIP HOTEL GET IMPLODED HERE: http://www.capetownetc.com/blog/news/watch-the-tulip-hotel-gets-demolished/

Cape Town, grab the popcorn because tomorrow a show is going to take place at 8 am.

The 12-storey Tulip Hotel on the corner of Strand and Bree streets is (fortunately) no longer in use, and will be demolished tomorrow morning.

Tulip has been dubbed Cape Town’s worst hotel, and a simple Google search reveals why:

The blast will be conducted by Ross Demolition and Jet Demolition, who will no doubt be giving Capetonians a show as the standing symbol of bad hospitality implodes tomorrow morning.

It is unclear what will pop up in the space of the hotel, but the prime real estate should cost a pretty penny.

Below are the road closures courtesy of News24. Road closures and no parking within the exclusion zone will be in effect from 6 am.
