The access road to and from Citrusdal was washed away. Traffic is stopped on both sides of the road. According to the Cederberg Municipality, Citrusdal is on lockdown.

‘The Cederberg Local Municipality is pleading with all residents to avoid being on the road. In the areas cut off due to flooding, people should remain indoors and if a situation is life-threatening, call the emergency number on 022 433 9400 immediately.’
- About 88 people have been evacuated from the Riverview Informal Settlement and temporarily housed in the Oranjeville Sports Hall;
- Although Bo-river and Hexriver are open, the road to Elandskloof is closed;
- Grade 4 to Grade 7 learner exams are postponed to Monday, 19 June, for children living outside of Citrusdal;
- The electricity is off in parts of Citrusdal and Clanwilliam due to an Eskom fault;
- About 57 people who lived in temporary housing on the sports grounds in Wupperthal were evacuated and moved to the Eendrag Community Hall.
As per a municipal statement, the water infrastructure in Citrusdal is currently under severe pressure and residents are urged to use water sparingly. ‘We request the communities to cooperate with authorities and stay clear of roads and affected areas. The municipality is assessing the municipal infrastructure across the municipal area and organising food parcels and blankets for displaced /affected persons.’
