As heavy rainfall continues to cause flooding and very wet conditions on roads in various parts of the Western Cape, motorists are urged to drive vigilantly and exercise caution.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Orange level 6 and Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain in the Western Cape as a series of cold fronts is expected over most parts of the Western Cape until Friday.

The following roads are experiencing flooding:
- Govan Mbeki Road towards Duinefontein Road, direction Wynberg (road closure westbound carriageway, expect delays)
- Duinefontein Road/Old Lansdowne Road in Philippi (road closure, expect delays)
- Vissershok/N7 Outbound
- De La Ray Road, direction Parow and UCT Belhar
- Giel Basson and Bosmansdam, Parow (please approach with caution)
- N2 Inbound
- N2 Inbound before Raapenberg
- N1 Inbound before M5 turnoff
- N1 Inbound before N7 turnoff, direction Goodwood
- M5 Inbound before N2 turnoff
- Gunner Circle, Epping (Jakes Gerwel turnoff onto Gunner Circle)
- M3 North and Southbound at Newlands Avenue
- Myrtle Road and Valhalla Drive, Bishop Lavis
- Klipfontein Road from police station, direction M5 at Athlone Bridge
- Jan Smuts, between Cambridge Road and Aden Road
- Prince George and Joe Marks Intersection (Muizenberg side)
According to BadenPowellReports, Baden Powell is currently flowing freely from Stellenbosch to Sunrise Circle. However, flooding of the following roads has also been reported:
- Both directions between JK Masemola and N2 bridge
- Just after Sonwabe Beach parking, direction Muizenberg affecting both lanes (please approach with caution)
- After landfill site, direction Muizenberg affecting both lanes
- Sunrise Boulevard turnoff, direction Muizenberg
As the rain continues, motorists must prioritise their own and others’ safety by taking necessary precautions while driving. Maintaining a safe following distance is strongly advised, and drivers should turn on their headlights to improve visibility.

- Rockfall on the roadway at Oudekraal Beach after 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa, lane towards Hout Bay obstructed (expect delays)
- Road closure due to rock and mud dumps on the Du Toitskloof tunnel and road at the top of the mountain
- A fallen tree is blocking the roadway on Rhodes Drive, north of Constantia Nek

- Part of the road has been washed away by heavy rains, direction Slanghoek first
- Collision between a vehicle and rock, N1, Huguenot Check Point, Worcester side N1 (approach with caution)
- R43 Road between Wolseley and Mitchells Pass connecting to R46 is temporarily closed as a tree has fallen on the roadway (detour through Wolseley to Ceres)
