The City of Cape Town (COCT) has asked residents to be patient as the necessary routine maintenance on electrical infrastructure in various areas of the metro will take place this week.
According to the COCT, the maintenance will allow them time to plan for the outage and to allow their teams sufficient time to complete the required maintenance tasks. The COCT announced last week that the main affected areas include Rocklands in Mitchells Plan, Constantia, Claremont and Newlands.

Meanwhile, the COCT has appealed to consumers to switch off appliances at wall sockets ahead of maintenance to reduce the risk of damage caused by a power surge.
