The roaring wildfires that broke out on Thursday, December 16 above the mountain slopes in Slanghoek near Kommetjie in Cape Town have been contained.
According to SANParks spokesperson Lauren Howard-Clayton, fire crews from the Table Mountain National Park, NCC Wildfires and other fire services responded to the call-out in the Ocean View-Slangkop area just before 9 pm, News24 reports.
Howard-Clayton went on to say the fire was finally contained after crews made good progress with hand tools where they managed to contain the fire just after 12am on Friday, December 17.

City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Jermaine Carelse further mentioned that all-volunteer ground crews left the scene just before 5 am.
