A 35-year-old man, who was kidnapped from a family business in Diepriver, was found during a police roadblock held over the weekend.

On Saturday, a getaway vehicle with false registration plates was linked to a business robbery in Diepriver. Later that day, the same vehicle approached a police roadblock held by members of the Delft Police Station on Symphony Way.

When the driver of the vehicle realised that they were approaching a roadblock, he made a U-turn and attempted to flee, according to Brigadier Novela Potelwa. Noticing this, police officers gave chase.
Although three occupants managed to flee, police apprehended the driver and rescued the kidnapping victim, who was still in the car.
The driver remains in custody while the search for the three other suspects continues.
