Eskom has announced on Friday, November 5 that it will implement stage 2 loadshedding at 11am after a unit at Lethabo and Majuba was delayed in returning to service. According to the power utility, the latest power cut comes after a unit at the Tutuka power plant also tripped.
Eskom said in a social media post that they do not expect the loadshedding to escalate into the weekend, but this can only be confirmed once they have a better understanding of these problems, and when it is likely to be resolved.
“Three Kendal units were taken off and it is anticipated that the fourth and remaining unit will also be shut down. The conveyor belts supplying these units are currently not running due to a power fault. No coal is reaching the station at this point,” Eskom explains.
#Stage2 #loadshedding will start at 11h00
