If you were caught off guard after stage 2 loadshedding kicked in at 11am, then this news is bound to add to your frustration.
Eskom announced that it will be implementing stage 4 loadshedding from 2pm on Friday, November 5 to 5am on Saturday, November 6.
Thereafter, stage 2 loadshedding will continue until 5am on Monday, November 8.
“Following the shut down of three generating units at Kendal Power Station, the trip of a unit each at Tutuka and Matimba power stations and the delayed return to service of a unit each at Majuba and Lethabo power stations, Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 14:00 today until 05:00 on Saturday morning,” the power utility explained.
According to Eskom, total breakdowns currently amount to 17 437MW while planned maintenance is 4 361MW of capacity.
