Cape Town motorists using sections of the R300 are urged to seek alternate routes as a result of heavy protest action this morning.

Shortly after 6am, protest action on R300 northbound at Stock Road and Jake’s Gewel Drive resulted in road closures with no traffic in either direction.
Reports of vehicles being stoned and burning tyres in the area have been received.

Law enforcement is currently on the scene.
Heavy traffic congestion can also be expected on the R300 northbound at the N1 inbound ramp.
Baden Powell Drive has also been closed between Oscar Mpheta and Mew Way as a result of sand on the road.
Motorists have been advised to see alternate routes.
