A six-year-old child was badly injured after an explosive device was thrown onto the roof of a home in Beacon Valley.
Captain FC van Wyk, spokesperson for the Western Cape police, said a family was at home in Bentley Street, Beacon Valley, in Mitchells Plain, at around 9pm last night when a big explosion was heard on the roof.

‘This explosive damaged the roof and the inside of the house including the glass sliding door.’
A six-year-old child sustained injuries to their left leg and head.
Van Wyk says the motive for the incident is gang-related, and the suspects are still at large.
