Provincial Organised Crime detectives are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder after a family of four were killed, and one left injured, in a shooting incident on Thursday night [September 24] in Browns Farm in Philippi.
According to preliminary reports, two unknown gunmen forcefully entered a home in Makhosi Street then shot and killed three women aged 18, 30 and 69. An 11-year-old boy was also killed during the shooting. Another person who was injured in the shooting was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
“The SAPS 72-hour activation plan is in place and resources have been mobilised to trace and apprehend the perpetrators of the shooting,” SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said.
