At least five men lost their lives on Christmas Eve in separate stabbing incidents in Cape Town.

According to Sergeant Wesley Twigg, SAPS spokesperson, a 23-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his partner in Lully Street in Delft. ‘According to reports, the victim (…) argued with the suspect before he was stabbed. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.’
A woman was arrested at the scene, and she is due to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court once charged.
In the second incident, a 48-year-old man was stabbed in Tsunami Street in Delft during an argument. Twigg confirmed to News24 that he was declared deceased on the scene.
Around 7pm, police responded to an incident in W-Block in Khayelitsha in which a 22-year-old man was stabbed and taken to a nearby hospital. Here, the bodies of two men were found with multiple stab wounds to their heads.
Another incident was logged in Pama Road.
‘The victim sustained stab wounds to his body and was declared deceased by medical staff on arrival at the hospital. The suspects are yet to be arrested.’
Just after 11pm, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in Clark Estate on old Stellenbosch Road in Elsies River. ‘Police attended to the crime scene where they found the victim with stab wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel,’ says Twigg.
The motive for the attack is still being investigated.
