As part of a R400 million expansion drive, construction on the 3 000 square meter store kick-started in January 2022. The retailers’ expansion drive includes opening another 21 brand new stores across Southern Africa.

Food Lover’s Market Bothasig will soon boast a state-of-the-art Food Lover’s Market, serving all the surrounding communities, including Bothasig, Monte Vista, Plattekloof, Panorama, Burgundy Estate, Richwood, Edgemead and the greater Milnerton area.
Customers will have access to a dedicated parking area, with space for approximately 200 parking bays, reports BusinessTech. The flagship store will be one-of-a-kind, boasting a landscaped garden and a recreational seating area.
According to Food Lover’s, the Bothasig development will deliver an “upmarket farm and family” feel and will offer an experiential shopping experience, like no other by bringing a world-class theatre of food to Bothasig.
One of the most exceptional features of the flagship store will be its solar system installation, once completed.
Furthermore, the group recently launched a new flagship store in Waterfall, Gauteng, and announced that it will expand its solar investments and implement energy-saving technologies at its distribution centres and certain stores to alleviate its reliance on Eskom-supplied power.
And of course, sustainability experts have joined forces to give birth to this exceptional development, with top-notch design features.
Design features include:
- Wider aisles
- Departments designed as dedicated destinations.
- Solar and energy-efficient lighting will be used throughout the store.
- An expanded grocery section.
Customers will get everything their household needs and more, all under one roof. From fresh fruit and vegetables to meat, healthy snacks, sushi, beverages, a deli, and a bakery for ready-made hot foods – you’ll be spoilt with choice.
Departments within this new store will include:
- Fruit and vegetables
