Condolences are pouring in for the founder of the Pink Ladies Organisation, Dessie Rechner.
Fondly know as Nana Des, Rechner passed away peacefully on Monday morning after a short illness. Co-director and co-founder of the organisation’s, Jacqui Thomas described her as not only a stalwart in the fight for missing and exploited children, but also a business partner, confidant, best friend, mother and grandmother

“ On a personal note, over the past 16yrs, Des and I never went more than a day without a call, message or email. Her constant presence will be sorely missed, but her legacy will remain,” he said
He added that the business operations will continue as usual, which is what she wanted.
The Pink Ladies organisation was founded in 2007 by Retcher and Thomas for the primary purpose of reuniting missing and endangered children and loved ones with their families. It has since a primary source for information about missing people in the country.
Social media users said Anna’s death will be felt by thousands of South Africans and her hard work will forever be remembered and legacy will be carried by many.
