The family of 17-year-old Jehaan Petersen was left disappointed on Thursday as the ongoing murder trial was further postponed to 16 April, which would have been her 19th birthday.

The body of Petersen was found on an open field near Greenturf Road on 11 September 2022, with gruesome wounds found on her body and head.
George Titus was identified as having murdered Petersen after the State indicated a witness was present at the time of the incident and Titus was subsequently charged with one count of murder in 2022.
The residents of Kalksteenfontein took matters into their own hands after they found Titus hiding in the community and attacked the alleged murderer, causing him to be hospitalised and subsequently missing his first court appearance back in 2022.
Allegedly, Titus bludgeoned Petersen with a large stone to the head before hitting her in the face while she was down.
Titus pleaded his innocence in the trial that commenced last year at Wynberg Regional Court.
Family and friends of the slain teenager were left outraged as they were made aware of a further delay in the final judgements after the interpreter needed time to translate the arguments for Titus.
Tasneem, Jehaan Petersen’s aunt, said, ‘Everyone was crying this morning knowing we must be at court. It is very emotional for us to be here, but we want justice for Jehaan.’
