The suspect was arrested by the police’s Western Cape Taxi Task Unit’s Combat Team on Thursday after he was traced at a residence in Ocean View.
In a statement over the weekend, provincial police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said the accused was allegedly linked to a triple murder that occurred in Khayelitsha in December 2022.
He was also charged with another murder that occurred in Masiphumelele in June 2023, as well as a house robbery in the same area.
‘Zukike Sikunana appeared at the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court (on Monday) charged with murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition,’ National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila told IOL.

According to Potelwa, more arrests are on the cards as the team of detectives responsible for taxi violence-related investigations crack down on suspects.
On Thursday and Friday, two additional alleged hitmen were detained, one of whom will be moved to the Western Cape after being detained by Umhlali police in KwaZulu-Natal for carrying an unlicensed firearm.
Potelwa claims that a fourth suspect was killed during a shootout with police in Wolseley.
The deceased was sought in connection with several homicides that occurred in Ceres, Wolseley, and Citrusdal. He is alleged to have killed a father and his young son in one of the incidents.
