The #imstaying Facebook group has had people talking since its inception, as it has given rise to positive initiatives that many are grateful for.

The most recent call to action, called the #christmaschallenge, sees those in the group – or “stayers” as they call themselves – tipping their waiters and waitresses 100% of their bills to ensure that money goes to having an enjoyable and more comfortable Christmas.

Christmas is the time of year that is often toughest for many, as family comes to visit and stays for extended periods of time. And while some enjoy having all their relatives under one roof, they cannot properly make the stay as comfortable as it is for others.

Here are some stayers who have taken it upon themselves to make things better for those who may not have otherwise had the most comfortable Christmas:

“So I don’t usually ever partake in Facebook challenges but I think this one is definitely worth it especially since I was once a waitress myself and I know how exhausting it can be on your feet all day sometimes not even getting tipped. So I paid it forward too. And tis the season to be giving and spread the joy. I hope the little bit I was able to give my waiter made a difference. Merry Christmas everyone,” stayer Stephanie Kelly wrote.
