The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services, in collaboration with partners such as Winelands FPA, CapeNature, and Drakenstein and Witzenberg Municipalities, is relentlessly fighting the Kluitjieskraal fire.
The fire, which started late yesterday afternoon, has burnt through approximately 6000 hectares and currently remains uncontained, exacerbated by warm temperatures and strong winds.
Despite challenging conditions, a respite in the wind has enabled the deployment of four helicopters for water bombing, with a total crew of 112 tirelessly working on the 20km fire line.
