A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a retired couple in Parow Valley.
Parow police responded to a complaint on Monday, 20 November. Upon their arrival in Market Street, Parow Valley, they found the bodies of Betsy Senekal (77) and Pieter Senekal (71). Both victims were found to have head injuries and were declared deceased on the scene.

The motive for the attack is an apparent house robbery; it is believed that the suspect entered the house via the roof.
Police pursued all information at their disposal and launched a manhunt, resulting in the arrest of a known drug user from the area after discovering stolen items belonging to the victims in his possession.
According to the police’s spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi, the possibility of more arrests connected to this case is not excluded.
‘We appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or has information to please call Crime Stop on 08600 10 111,’ said Swartbooi.
