After a load-shedding-free weekend, Eskom has announced that power cuts resume again today 10 October.
“While the generation capacity constraints persist, the suspension of load shedding is possible due to the anticipated lower weekend demand, as well as adequate levels of emergency generation reserves,” said Eskom.
This week’s load shedding will resume between 4pm and midnight.
This schedule will run up until 12 October and more updates will be revealed.
The power utility company has revealed that most of its generation units have come back online; “however, a unit at each Kendal and Kusile power station were taken off for repairs”.
According to BUSINESSTECH, Eskom has 5,487MW on planned maintenance, while another 14,061MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.
Citizens are advised to keep checking EskomSePush for more push updates.
