Following breakdowns at Tutuka, Kriel, Duvha and Kendal power stations, Eskom implemented stage 6 loadshedding until further notice on Friday morning.

‘Stage 6 loadshedding will be implemented at 5am until further notice. This is due to the failures of generating units at Tutuka, Kriel, Duvha and Kendal power stations since yesterday,’ Eskom announced in a statement.
The power utility said that it would publish a further update if any significant changes occurred.

Eskom has been alternating between stages 5 and 6 since Tuesday.
