The popular Stellenbosch pub, Die Mystic Boer, will be closing its doors this weekend after 21 years in business.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the establishment confirmed that it would be open for the last time on Sunday and urged patrons to say their final goodbyes on the last weekend of trading.
‘Mystics’ has been operating in the university town since 2003 and has been a perennial favourite among students for more than two decades.

‘It is with mixed emotions that we are announcing that Die Mystic Boer Stellenbosch (Est. January 2003) will be permanently closing its doors this weekend,’ read the Facebook post.
‘We as a bar and venue for countless artists and patrons have had a hell of a run! Not without our downs, (but also with lots of ups) we have come to the end of the road.’
‘We would like to thank each and everyone; from customers to live acts to suppliers and staff who have, over the past 21 years, made “Mystics” what it was and is. Without you we would not have lasted long!’
‘Die Boer was and will be remembered for being more than the sum of all its parts.’
‘Our final party night will be this coming Saturday, 13 Jan with Sunday, 14 Jan being our final trading day.’
