The opening ceremony of the Netball World Cup gets underway at 4pm this afternoon, and spectators who have yet to receive their tickets have been advised to check their spam folders.

This is according to Tournament Director Priscilla Masisi, following numerous complaints from the public ahead of the start of the tournament.

‘There has been a number of challenges with tickets, they had to be changed, but at the moment everyone has a ticket,’ she said this morning.
‘We are now dealing with the small queries … that are mainly to do with all tickets that are electronic. They have been sent, we are encouraging those to check in their spam box (in email), because most of the tickets show up there.’

Tickets will be available for purchase at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), but according to Masisi, there are only a few left.
After the opening ceremony, the Proteas play Wales in their first game at 6pm this evening in front of a sold-out crowd.

To finish the preliminary round of the competition, South Africa will play Sri Lanka tomorrow at 4pm and then the highly anticipated Jamaica on Sunday at 6pm.
