Burgersdorp’s iconic NG Kerk was damaged by a fire on Monday, August 17. No information regarding the cause of the blaze is available yet.
Onlookers watched in dismay as the flames engulfed a part of the church’s roof and a number of residents shared their pictures and videos on social media.
Fire Services were seen attempting to manage and extinguish the blaze shortly after it started. Majority of the damage seems to be focused on one area of the roof.
