An Oudtshoorn pastor who was accused of rape and possession of child pornography in 2018 was found guilty and sentenced to 54 years in prison on 7 November 2022.
At the moment, the pastor’s identity is being withheld because he is related to the victims.

The assaults took place in 2003 when the victim was 13 years old at the pastor’s residence, church and office.
He also abused his 14-year-old adopted daughter, and she reported him around the same time as the first victim.
The Oudtshoorn Regional Court has convicted him of 26 counts of child pornography, sexual assault, three counts of rape and three counts of indecent assault.
In addition, he was found in possession of child pornography downloaded from the internet.
The pastor admitted to the court that he has a pornography addiction.
