The City of Cape Town (CoCT) has released a notice to advise residents of necessary electricity supply interruptions in parts of Cape Town.

According to the notice, Hout Bay, Llandudno and Pelican Park will be without electricity for a period of time due to maintenance work at the Bisschop Substation and Pelican Park Main Station. The work is critical to ensuring a reliable electricity supply for residents in the area.
Electricity supply interruptions will affect Hout Bay and Llandudno residents on 4 and 11 November 2023.
The maintenance will be carried out on:
- Saturday, 4 November 2023, from 9pm to 8am the following day for Footprint 2: Bisschop Road 1 or on an alternate date of 18 November 2023.
- And on Saturday, 11 November 2023, from 9pm to 8am the following day for Footprint 1: Bisschop Road 1
Pelican Park will experience interruptions in electricity supply on Saturday 11 November 2023, from 8pm and 10am (weather permitting); alternatively, on Saturday 18 November 2023 at the same time, weather permitting.

Please note:
- Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances at the wall socket ahead of maintenance to reduce the risk of damage caused by power surges.
- The electricity supply could be restored at any time; therefore, residents should remember to treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the interruption.
