Eskom’s latest power alert announced the implementation of stage 4 loadshedding this afternoon until 5am on Friday morning. Thereafter, loadshedding stages will vary between stages 0 to 3 throughout the weekend until 5am on Tuesday next week.
According to the full schedule published by the power utility, stage 1 will be implemented from 5am Friday until 4pm when stage 2 takes over. Stage 2 will be in effect until 5am on Saturday.
Stage 1 loadshedding will occur between 5am and 4pm on Saturday, after which stage 3 will commence and continue until 5am on Sunday morning.
Eskom customers can expect a short respite from loadshedding on Sunday and Monday between 5am and 4pm as loadshedding will be suspended unless any further changes occur.
However, stage 3 will be reinstated from 4pm on both Sunday and Monday until 5am the following day.
The City of Cape Town has yet to update its loadshedding schedule for the long weekend.
