Before you get all busy with your Easter weekend activities, remember to register your child/children for the next school year. Parents and guardians have exactly one day left for the online registration for their child/children for the 2022/2023 school year.
The Department of Education Western Cape provides a step by step online guide on the application process and has had registration open since 14 March and closes tomorrow Friday 15 April. Remember, you need to apply to at least three schools according to you and your child’s preference respectively with one of them being the closest school to your child/children’s place of residence. If you are struggling with how to apply for placement here is a video that will help you with the process and there is also one if you haven’t registered to apply on online.
This will help ensure that you stand a better chance of having your child/children registered at your school of preference and get a response in time to make other arrangements should you not get into the schools you register for.
Here is what you will need to upload for a successful application process
- The last official school Report Card, Results of the learner, for learners who have been to school.
- ID, Birth certificate, passport of the learner
- A study permit (foreign learners)
- Proof of application (study permit) or a police affidavit
- Immunisation card (Road to Health Chart) for primary schools only
- Proof of residence
Contact the local WCED district office for advice and remember this only applies for learners who will be studying in the Western Cape.
