Camps Bay and Bakoven are set to undergo a road transformation. The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate is launching a road resurfacing project that will enhance the area’s road network.
Starting this week, Brompton Avenue, Blair Road, Susan Avenue, Platteklip Square, Ingleside Road, Cramond Road, Fiskaal Road and Kinnoul Road will see significant roadworks.
The project aims to ensure the longevity of the city’s road infrastructure and will continue until 10 November, 2023.
These roadworks are part of routine maintenance that is essential to keep Cape Town’s roads in excellent condition. The resurfacing primarily takes place during weekdays from 9am to 3pm.
However, there may be occasional night and weekend work as needed to expedite the project.

Councillor Rob Quintas, the City’s mayoral committee member for urban mobility, expressed gratitude to road users for their patience during this necessary infrastructure project.
Residents should anticipate some noise during this period and stay informed as project dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Both directions of traffic will be affected, but flag personnel will be on hand to direct traffic around the work area. It’s important to note that vehicles parked on the road or obstructing maintenance work will be relocated or towed.
During this period, road users are advised to consider alternative routes to minimise disruptions and ensure a smoother commuting experience.
