While many of us have heard of a smooth criminal, a sleepy criminal is another story entirely and one gracing South African headlines.
In Cape Town, we’ve heard of some pretty humorous crime and cop related incidents. Who could forget the Kung Fu cop who was filmed fighting off SAPS colleagues at a taxi rank in Cape Town?

In KwaZulu-Natal, a criminal whose secret weapon includes a good night’s rest was recently arrested.
In Palmview, Phoenix, Durban North, a suspect was apprehended after he fell asleep in the same car he had broken into.
He had attempted to steal valuables from the car on Monday morning, 14 March, but was caught sleeping on the job.
KZN VIP Protection Services were altered to the incident after a resident noticed that his vehicle had been broken into. A trail of tools had been left behind and snapped, indicating the suspect’s instruments in his sleepy scheme.
“The suspect was detained by KZN VIP and handed over to [the SAPS]” as KZN VIP Protection services reported.
