The person of interest who had been wanted in connection with the murder of Jesse Hess and her grandfather Chris, has been arrested.

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk confirmed that a 31-year-old man was arrested in Struisbaai today after a tip-off was received from locals.

The man, who is believed to be Hess’ cousin, will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Friday. The suspect is also allegedly linked to a case of rape and robbery that took place in Hanover Park, Cape Town, on Monday.

Jesse’s mother works as a hair stylist on a cruise ship, and is unsure where her father is.
