Tali’s Wedding Diary is produced by Sketchbook Studios, the creators of SuzelleDIY and stars actress Julia Anastasopoulos as Tali, a Joburg princess who moves to Cape Town and is getting married.

“For the self-involved Tali, marriage isn’t an institution – it’s an obsession. We follow Tali and her groom (harmless property-bro, Darren) as they prepare for what HAS to be the perfect wedding. Or else,” writes Sketchbook Studios.

The full first season of the Showmax original is available for viewing right now. Since the show aired, many have been calling for another season to continue Tali’s story and their wish has been granted.

In 2019, the show won five awards at the South African Film & Television Awards (Saftas), including Best TV Comedy, Best Actress in a TV Comedy, Best Achievement in Directing in a TV Comedy, Best achievement in cinematography and Best achievement in editing. This was an historic win for Showmax as it became the first streaming service to win at the Saftas with an original production.
