A 17-year-old boy was shot dead and a four-year-old was rushed to hospital after shots were fired in the St Montague Village area of Lavender Hill on Monday afternoon [March 8].
Paramedics on the scene discovered the teen’s deceased body with multiple gunshot wounds, according to South African Police Service’s spokesperson FC van Wyk.
“A 17-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded and a four-year-old child was shot and wounded. When police arrived on the scene, they found the body with multiple gunshot wounds,” said van Wyk. “The victim was declared deceased on the scene by paramedics and the four-year-old child was taken to a nearby medical facility for more medical treatment.”
Suspects are still at large and the motivation behind the shooting is yet unknown, reports EWN.
